Q&A with Molly Ford
V: What are the best & worst parts about your job? / What part of your work would surprise people the most?
MF: I love working with flowers, my wholesalers, my team, and my clients. I feel very connected to this business and the people involved with it. That's the best part! People may be surprised by the amount of administrative work involved in a floral business. If I am not at the studio or market, I am working on my computer with clients and preparing proposals.
V: When you’re stressed, where do you feel it first? your skin, your body, your mood?/How can you tell when your skin (or body, or energy) is burnt out and what do you do about it?
MF: I have noticed a pattern where my skin breaks out during particularly busy seasons. I recently visited the dermatologist to seek an answer, and she informed me that it was stress-related. When this happens, I have to find ways to relax and step away from the job. I am still learning what that looks like, but they say acknowledgment is the first step, right?
V: What does taking care of yourself actually look like right now? / What’s a small habit or ritual that always brings you back to yourself?
MF: Taking care of myself means enjoying home-cooked meals, going for long walks with my husband, and getting enough sleep. I also crave quality time with friends when I'm feeling overwhelmed by work.
V: What’s something you’ve let go of in your beauty or wellness routine? / What’s a beauty trend you’d be happy to never see again? / What’s a beauty or wellness “rule” you’re happy to ignore?
MF: My #1 rule is to listen to my body. If my skin is breaking out, I need to slow down. If I'm tired and forgetting small details, I need to have an early night and make a journal entry to refocus. I feel that my body tells me what I usually need; I have to slow down long enough to listen.
V: How do you remind yourself you’re already doing enough? / What’s something you're proud of?
MF: I usually journal a "thankfulness list" to help remind myself that I have more than enough to be thankful and proud of. Reflection and grounding always remind me that I am enough and have done enough.
V: Is there a part of your day that feels sacred?
MF: My mornings! I love to wake up early and have a cup of coffee outside, by myself.
V: What’s something you bought recently that totally delivered? / What is something you will never shut up about?
MF: I love a bright shoe! Hudson recently purchased the Tory Burch Pierced Mule for me in red. I am obsessed!

Why it Matters
Care isn’t just in the petals, it’s in the pause. For Molly, tending to beauty extends beyond her arrangements to the way she nurtures herself. Stress may bloom as breakouts or fatigue, but it’s also a reminder to slow down, breathe, and reconnect.
Her rituals — journaling, walks with her husband, shared meals, and quiet mornings with coffee — ground her through the chaos. By listening to her body and honoring its needs, she proves that true beauty grows from balance, gratitude, and mindful care.

Because when care is consistent, we stay connected. Follow along on @verdoieskin as we share more stories that inspire and ground us.
